What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. The term “cookie” in this policy also covers similar storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which regulators treat the same way as cookies for transparency and consent purposes.
We Use Only Strictly-Necessary (Essential) Cookies
Deadline Pilot uses only cookies and storage that are strictly necessary for the service to function — authentication, session management, and remembering that you have dismissed this notice. We do not use any analytics, advertising, marketing, A/B-testing, fingerprinting, performance-monitoring, or social-media cookies. No third-party tracking pixels, beacons, or fonts are loaded by our pages.
Because every cookie listed below is strictly necessary, no consent banner with Accept/Reject buttons is required under the EU ePrivacy Directive, UK PECR, or equivalent regimes. We still display the bottom-of-page notice to disclose what we use.

Authentication is provided by Clerk
Authentication, session management, multi-factor authentication, and OAuth sign-in are provided by Clerk, a third-party identity provider that acts as a data processor on our behalf under GDPR Article 28. The cookies listed above as “set by Clerk” are first-party in domain (they are issued under deadlinepilot.com, not under clerk.com) but the underlying service is operated by Clerk. This distinction matters legally because Clerk is identified as a sub-processor on our Subprocessors page and is bound to us by a signed Data Processing Agreement.
We do not permit any third-party advertising network, analytics vendor, or social-media tracker to set cookies through our pages.
Legal basis under EU/UK rules
Under Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive (and UK PECR Regulation 6), storage of and access to information on your device requires your prior consentunless the cookie is strictly necessary for a service you have explicitly requested. Every cookie we use falls within this exemption: you cannot sign in to or use Deadline Pilot without authentication and session cookies, and the dismiss-notice cookie exists to honor your choice. To the extent any of the cookies above also process personal data, the legal basis under GDPR Article 6 is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in providing a secure service (Article 6(1)(f)).
Managing Cookies
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Because every cookie above is strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from signing in or using the application. We do not provide an in-app opt-out because there is nothing optional to opt out of.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
If we add a cookie or storage technology in the future, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before that cookie or technology starts being set. If a future cookie is non-essential, we will additionally present a consent banner with Accept/Reject parity before setting it.
